For Review:

Anton Von Leewenhoek looked at pond water and saw "animalcules"

Robert Hooke named the "little rooms" that he saw cells

Theodor Schwann, Matthias Schleiden came up with the Cell Theory:

1. Cells are the basic unit of life
2. All living things are made up of one or more cells

Nutrition

Homework for Monday, September 17th- You need to keep track of EVERYTHING you eat and drink for three days between now and Monday.  You can choose whatever days you'd like.  Have your parents help you with meals.  Click on the button to log in to your SuperTracker account.  Don't panic if you can't find a food, we'll go over problems in class.  If you are not liking the SuperTracker site, try SparkPeople.  It seems much easier to use, however, you need to have your parent sign you up for it.  The purpose of this assignment is not to diet, but to keep track of your calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates.  You will need to print to OneNote the results of each day's food totals.

** If the online trackers are not working for you, you will need to write out everything you eat for 3 days.  That includes name of the food, serving size, calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates!

Metric System Information

Science always uses the Metric System for measurements.  It really is easy!  Check out these sites to review.

http://www.themetricsystem.info/ There is good basic information here.  Check out the "How to Learn the Metric System".  It provides a Celsius "temperature poem" which is a good way to remember the basic temperatures in Celsius.

Here is what I used for the Power Points and worksheets today.
